A Week in Derbyshire

Had a lovely week away to Matlock in Derbyshire, of course my camera came along. I had the chance to shoot some long exposure waterfalls and some lovely scenery.

There was a lot of walking, very narrow paths and acting like a mountain goat involved but it was worth it.

This shot is Padley gorge in Hope valley.

Research was important to this trip to find the hidden beauty in the area so i made a list of places, addresses and what to find at the spot so i would only need to take the equipment that was needed.

One of the easier falls to get to is Lumsdale Falls, the falls go up in stages, there is a good path and stable steps. There is also the ruins of an old mill too so there are varied shot options. Best time to visit any of the falls is after a good rain, with the rain coming off the hills the falls are very active as in the picture above.
